  I was stupid enough to send 4000 usd to a hong kong crypto exchange called BCHBTG exchange.(https://bchbtg.com/#/home) this girl claims to be from Taiwan. She has even sent me 15000 usdt (tether) through the exchange. We made a few trades together and have a total of 26000 USDT in this exchange. Has anyone either received money from these people? possibly the exchange might be fake? i have received many voice notes, photos and short video clips from her and she rejects the idea of a phone call or video call always. Have i been scammed? please help me

  Hi guys and gals, we were scammed of 1,800,000. By a Mei Ling Amda. Online the entire time. She railroaded us into where we had exhausted all of our funds and she kept asking for more. Then my wife wanted to withdraw and the sight Beefy Coin said she would have to pay the ENTIRE platform service fee before she could withdraw any funds. This fee was in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Online she is Anny Ella among other alias such as Lily Yang! If it is in indeed her she is engaged in fraudulent investment criminal activity. The FBI has been contacted but I still need your help getting back my money

  I tried Tinder for the first time. During this Sunday 5 ( five!) chinese, malaysian, japanese girls addressed me. I am from Prague.
  They all know Prague, been here, but return in 1 month, one lives in Berlin, owns 11BTC ( screenshot), another one just made profit $65K ( twice ). She bought and sold 20 BTC during one night!
  Unfortunatelly, I am very well experienced in crypto world or I think it about myself . Both of them couldnt stop explaining me, how to earn money. So, I told them, i am interested in other things then money. I’m Ok with my job. So, They started to be angry.
  The third one was from Japan.
  Unfortunatelly, I spent in Japan several months when was on high school. My japanese girlfriend is my lifetime friend and we keep in touch for 20years.
  I started something in Japanese.
  But she was only Born there, father was travelling ( like me ) and found her mother in China,so they live there. She is mining BTC, parents as well. She mines 1BTC in 2 months. I started to be nervous and then found your article.
  Fourth lives here in Prague. At her aunts place, was today in hotel Ambassador Wencslas square, my flat is like 5 minutes walking. But she has no time. She manages company in SINGAPORE.
  Last one is from Malaysia, hasnt tried anything, we’ll see. I’m gonna try it, now just for fun.

  Smith Investment Team whatsapp group : FAKE FAKE FAKE and SCAAAMMM!

  Got added to some whatsapp group call Smith and Samatha as admin, may be empire of thugs, scammers. They ask to create wallet account on sswallet.com to trade contracts. They give trading signals which work most of the time. Sometime they create trade signals to makes you liquidate and got all your money wipe out. These crypto coins are not traded in any other website or exchange. No way to recover any money. No support or person to call. The so called Administrator may help you one time to get your trust but then it will not work and you got stuck loosing your money.

  There is a crypto scam Whatsapp group called Raymond’s Investment Team that’s sending out mass invites in North America.

  The group admins are pushing a site called YBGCoins (ybgcoins[dot]com) to make “crypto contract trades” but it’s clear that the site is just a way to get people to send money directly to the scammers. Also, when you sign up at YBGCoins, the site asks you to submit personal info including name, address, and ID/driver license number (including a photo) to be able to withdraw anything. This is clearly a way to harvest personal information to use for other scams, and obviously you won’t be able to withdraw anything (unless perhaps the scammers let you withdraw small amounts initially to gain your trust before cutting you off entirely). It’s also clear that lots of people in the group are in on the scam since they’re sharing screenshots of their fake gains with YBGCoins.

  I have been ‘playing’ with exactly these types of profiles on Tinder for over 12 months.
  There is something else you are missing.
  WhatsApp.
  They all insist on using WhatsApp. Not snapchat, not signal. Just WhatsApp.

  I don’t know why. Two theories.

  1. There is some scam they can do with your WhatsApp. Google says it is not difficult to associate a punters WhatsApp with a new device, where they can read all your other messages and hopefully find sensitive banking or credit card details if you messaged those to a family member.

  2. Sharing WhatsApp also shares your mobile phone number. With some sweet talk they will get your full name from you and have your mobile phone number. That combination is a powerful combination. Maybe the will even get your ‘birthday’ (Date fo Birth). Almost certainly also your photo. Bingo. Three or four critical ID’s. What the heck they can do with that I don’t know. Maybe you can help me understand,

  Thank you for this article.
  Since the pandemic situation is quite a novum, this new scheme wasn’t familiar with me.
  Especially the point about engaging and investing in long conversation. I normally uncover such scams immediately, but only because normal scams are freaking badly performed.

  So it happened, that the first young woman already sounded too good to be true. Like in your article, owns a shop or something like that. And of course, just recently left the city back to Hong Kong, because of the pandemic. Plus “because of clever investments she doesn’t need to work anymore”.
  In a normal conversation, where it suited the case, she mentioned very brief, that she is fortunate, despite the problems in the pandemic and her shop, to still be financial secure.

  So I got that feeling and told her “somehow it sounds a bit scammy”, which resulted in her being upset and angry, because she seemingly only answered my questions… With the tiny detail of always mentioning the investment topic.
  That actually seemed as far as to interpret over only text messages, somehow genuine and yes I did ask what she does /work and how it’s going. On top, I’m not a native English speaker and feared additional cultural misinterpreting.
  But she didn’t reply to my explanation and after two days she deleted my number. Well, bad luck I guess.

  Today, it just starts the same with the second luxorious Chinese – Hong Kong woman, who just left the country and is interested in engaging a real conversation.
  So now I’m here reading your blog.
  Ah yes, BTW, she mentions “investing” in her Bio as interests and hobbies. 😉

    I got scammed of 169k hkd.
    With a one year old, and left with less than 10k in my account…. I’ve been trying to find someone that can help me recover my money. But the police couldn’t help, the bank didn’t help….and I believe all the people who promise to recover your funds are scammers themselves. It hurts and it’s depressing…. I’m now trying my best to work myself back up…. Hk doesn’t really provide any support. it’s heartbreaking

  The one that I have been talking to is definitely a beautiful lady who didn’t bring up anything about investments for the last 2 months. So I was thinking, “finally I am talking to some genuine person”. But since yesterday she has been asking me to download metatrader4 to earn money. When I didn’t show any interest, She is literally scolding me saying I am not ready to help myself, hahahaha…

  This experience has broken me. I was so naive. This is the first time I’ve had an outlet to talk about it. I’ve been suffering in silence for so long. The deep shame I feel will never go away. I thought it would get easier over time but everyday I put on a mask and hide behind a smile and it’s killing me slowly inside. My life has spiralled into a black hole and I can’t escape. Every letter I get, every knock on the door I begin to breakdown for fear it’s someone coming to collect payment. I’ve gone from being able to alway pay my bills to scraping month to month. I’ve lost all joy in the simple things that use to bring me happiness. I just go through the motion of just existing. What is the point???

  2 weeks ago I have been approached on WhatsApp by someone that called me by “mistake” claiming it was looking for a friend. I thought nothing of it and moved on. Shortly after, that person starts doing small chat with me. The number was from Malasya which raises red flags, but I am a curious person so I went along. As a SWE, I like to be up to date with the latest scams but most important of all, I hate these people so much and how they take advantage of people with less knowledge.

  So fast forward to a week later, we been talking every day. We exchanged messages, even pictures, audio, and there was never any mention to anything suspicious. I provided wrong information about everything; I basically created a different persona for myself: new name, divorced, worked in a store, etc.

  Basically she would share with me pictures of her and her day. She looked very pretty (red flag) and super kind. She lives in Malasya, she bought a house last year, she bought a car. Her English is not perfect but really good. She would tell me a whole bunch of stuff that would make sense. She just looked like a wealthy and beautiful person that was flirting with me after a while.

  I started to feel bad about the situation bcs I was lying on everything about me and yet she seemed genuine so I started to believe on her despite all the red flags.

  And just when she was about to break me , after nearly a week and a half, the scam starts. She mentions she has an uncle who is the director of some Malasya financial group. Her uncle and her they trade options on Bitcoin according to her.

  So the scheme is basically to lure me in to invest on this platform https://fmytex.com. And this is the tricky part: the website looks legit. It looks well made, there’s customer support, there’s even an app on Apple Store!! I started to search more about the website and there’s not much information on the website: not many entries on Google results and no results for YouTube at all. I did find this https://crypto-scammed.com/is-fmytex-a-scam. It seems other people fell for this scam and the author has even lost $2000 in it.

  Back to the story, I went along with it. I created a new email, a new account on fmytex, I faked wired transfers and deposited fake funds on it. I believe the scheme is that once you deposit funds into it, you’re not able to withdraw them anymore. So I believe by depositing credits, they would then be under her control. The reason I say this is because she asks me for screenshots on my account to provide proof that I transferred. I give her some fake screenshots and she is very confused bcs she doesn’t see those credits on her account, I’m supposing. I pretended to deposit $1000.

  I also asked screenshots of her account for comparison and I saw she has a portfolio worth over $500k. She is running a very successful scam that may have stolen from a lot of people. This cannot continue and something must be done.

  Please help me figure out a solution. I could report this to fraud but I’m not sure if they would do something since I wasn’t scammed per se; I didn’t fall for it. Tracking her ip is also not possible bcs communication is done via WhatsApp.

  I also don’t want to cross any legality boundary but is there any way to put a stop to this ? Could I share a link or file (pdf) that would disrupt this business scam?

  I also have to say that I’m running out of time because I can’t keep my disguise much longer. She’s growing suspicious bcs she asks me constant screenshots that at some point I won’t be able to provide .

    I have been living with this shame for the past 2 years with no to talk to. It has put me in the darkest place I have ever experienced and I am still just hanging on one day at a time for the sake of my family. One day a random person approached me on WhatsApp claiming to be from Singapore and looking for a friend, it was a month of small talk before anything relating to money was even mentioned. They would even send me pics of their lavish lifestyle. Even talking about this now is making me physically sick. At the time I couldn’t see a way out and everyday thought about ending it all. It started off small and gradually grew until one day all my money was gone. I lost over 200k which was everything. I was devastated, I couldn’t breath, I had panic attacks. My whole personality changed, lost friends and become isolated. I would give anything to bring this person to justice.

    I’ve had a very similar scam attempted on me, i also played along desipite seeing right through it. same pretty girl playing cool for a few weeks before inviting me to trade on this crypto/forex platform that her uncle ‘owns and has insider information on’. i refused to deposit any money but every account started with $10 so she invited me to invest in some coin which whatdya know, went up 30% immediately after i invested in.

      I am from Italy and the same exact thing happened to me with two girls met on Speaky (language exchange app) until today 4th of February when I quit both of them. The first claimed to be originally from Beijng but living in Edinburgh (UK phone number) and owning a restaurant and the second from Hong Kong and living there (Hong Kong phone number) owning a clothing shop. Same story, I was asked for whatsapp contact right away and then all went for a nice easygoing chat with photos of both good looking girls, lasted almost one month. All of a sudden they said that they were making money with forex trade and bitcoin following the advices of her teacher and the other girl’s uncle. One offered to teach me how to make money and the other asked me, because she was very busy with her fashion company, if I could help her managing her investments by downloading the metatrade app and giving me her login and password. For luck I am skeptical and I was able to understand it was too good to be true, but unfortunately some naive people fall into their net.

    Same thing happened to me. I got a message from WhatsApp from this Asian girl that said she mistyped a new number of her friend. She then said that she will message me using her personal whatsapp numbeer since she was using her business whatsapp number. Long story short, she got me in on that scam. I don’t know why my dumbass fell for it. I lost almost $3000 because of it. I ended up reporting it to my local police and to an anti-fraud center here in my country where I live. I blocked both her number. She then contacted me with a different number which I also blocked.

      I’m sorry to say it’s very probably fake. I’ve spent 6 months talking with a chinese woman who seemed to be very good at trading, but it turns out it was all fake. I’m just glad I only lost $1,000 because I don’t have a lot of money.

    Did they use the website fmytex.com?

    I got lured in was leery at first but put $100 into it. Built it up to $1500 and was able to pull $1000. After that, it gave me the confidence to dump 10k into it. What made it worse, I convinced several friends to invest or I mean get scammed. This bitch was good, she walked all my friends through their scam.

    I submitted a report as have my friends to the FBI and the FTC. Nothing but crickets.

    Hey! I had a similar situation with a guy on whatsapp claiming to be a doctor and similar situation where it was a wrong number and I was concerned. Usually I would have blocked his number but didn’t and he wanted to be friends. Didn’t think there was any harm but still cautious, he sent videos that proved his claim as a normal person although his English was a bit off being Chinese. It took a few days or so until he brought up the crypto currency and everything he said about it made sense so didn’t think he was scamming me since we went thru coinbase and crypto but then took me to a different website hxpxopt.com which wasn’t familiar and that should have been my red flag 🙁 However i still went thru with it and now I think I lost some money. When i told my sister, she said there’s a lot of scam on whatsapp claiming wrong numbers and wanting to remain friends. They claim to be in the United States and have business here so I asked the business name but cannot find it online so that is a red flag. There isn’t much info about this online but so happy you are sharing this because people need to know how bad this is. Everything sounds so similar to my experience and worried if they have my account now.

  I’ve had multiple messages from Asian ladies (well in the profile picture) text me on WhatsApp approaching me with different names. I knew something was up when they all gave me different names and said the same thing.. their assistant typed in the wrong phone number and how it could be fate or remain friends. I respond to the most recent one saying “I think it’s fate too, can you lend me some money?” And immediately I got blocked. Lmao! The first one tried to get me to transfer 1k into coinbase to make 1k into 10k within a couple minutes. I’m a day trader, and know how it works. So I asked how is that possible when Bitcoin isn’t going up right now, it’s down a couple percentage. And she says she’s trade crypto forex.. okkkkkk.

    They pretend to have the wrong number and say something along the lines of meeting by fate. They talk to you for a few days and convice you to invest in crypto with them before blocking you and running off with your money.

      I have three now. All want to teach me trading with BTCUSD. One gave me a demo trading account with 100,000 to practice with. Now all three want me to open a real trading account so to trade with them. They also all have an uncle that sees to work on the New York stock exchange. One texts me and says their uncle just called and to get on the account and to trade now. I usually make a lot of money but feel like it is all set up. What to do?

  There are certain things that still have to be done the old fashioned way. Doing deals over Whatsapp, Facebook etc. for a house seems kind of suspect to me.
